Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 9, 2026

FamCEO ("FamCEO," "we," "us," or "our") operates a text-based household help desk that lets a parent or guardian coordinate their family from one place. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Please read it alongside our Terms of Service.

Plain-English summary. We collect the minimum we need to run the service — a parent's account details, each family member's name and mobile number, and the messages your family sends. We use it to organize your household and text your family back. We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or let anyone use it to train AI models. You can ask us to delete your family's data at any time. This summary is for convenience only; the full policy below governs.

1. A note about families and children

FamCEO is designed to be set up and controlled by an adult account holder — a parent or legal guardian (the "Account Holder"). The Account Holder adds their own family members, who are often children, by registering each member's mobile number.

FamCEO is directed to the Account Holder, not to children. We do not knowingly allow children to create accounts, and children never install anything or sign up themselves — they simply exchange text messages with a number the Account Holder controls. The Account Holder is responsible for obtaining any consent required to add a family member and for supervising minors' use of the service. See Section 9 (Children's privacy) for how we handle information about minors and how to request its deletion.

2. Information we collect

Account information. When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and an encrypted password (managed by our authentication provider — we never store your password in plain text).

Family member information. For each family member the Account Holder adds, we collect a name (or nickname) and a mobile phone number, plus optional settings such as role and messaging preferences.

Messages and media. We collect the content of SMS and MMS messages exchanged between your family and the FamCEO number — including message text, photos and other media (for example, a photo of a permission slip or an event flyer), and metadata such as timestamps and the sending phone number.

Classification and service data. To turn messages into organized tasks, we generate and store data about each message — for example the category we assigned it, a confidence score, and the resulting tickets, chores, shopping items, meals, and events.

Payment information. If you subscribe to a paid plan, our payment processor (Stripe) collects and processes your payment details. We do not receive or store your full card number; we retain only limited billing information such as your subscription status and the last four digits of your card.

Technical and usage information. Like most online services, we automatically collect limited technical data such as IP address, browser type, device information, and log data when you use the dashboard, along with cookies strictly necessary to keep you signed in (see Section 11).

3. How we use information

We use the information above to:

We do not use your family's messages or personal information to serve advertising, and we do not sell your personal information.

4. How messaging works and your consent

FamCEO sends and receives SMS/MMS messages only between the Account Holder and that Account Holder's own registered family members. For a plain-English walkthrough of exactly how consent is collected, see How FamCEO texting & consent works.

By registering a family member's number, the Account Holder confirms they are authorized to provide consent for that member to receive these messages.

5. AI processing of messages

To understand and categorize incoming messages (and to read details from photos such as event flyers), we send message content to our AI provider, Anthropic, through its API. Under Anthropic's commercial API terms, this content is not used to train Anthropic's models. We send only what is needed to classify the message and never use this processing for advertising.

6. Who we share information with

We share information only with service providers ("subprocessors") that help us run FamCEO, and only as needed to provide the service. These currently include:

Each provider is permitted to use your information only to perform services for us. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the safety or rights of any person, or in connection with a business transfer (such as a merger or acquisition), in which case we will require the recipient to honor this policy.

We do not sell your personal information, share it with advertisers, or allow any third party to use it to train AI models.

7. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service. Some items are kept for a limited period as a normal part of how the product works (for example, completed shopping items linger briefly as a receipt trail). When you close your account or request deletion, we delete or de-identify your family's data within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain limited records to meet legal, tax, or security obligations.

8. Your rights and choices

You may:

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) or the EU/UK GDPR — including the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data, and to object to certain processing. We honor these rights where they apply; contact us to exercise them. Because we do not sell data or use it for targeted advertising, there is nothing to opt out of on that front.

9. Children's privacy

FamCEO is intended for use by adults to coordinate their households. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children, and children cannot create accounts.

Information about a minor family member (their name/nickname, mobile number, and the messages they exchange with the FamCEO number) is provided and controlled by the Account Holder, who is responsible for that member's participation and for any required consent. An Account Holder may review, update, or delete a family member's information at any time from the dashboard or by contacting us. If you believe a child's information has been provided to us without proper authority, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information. Data is encrypted in transit, message media is stored in a private, access-controlled bucket, and each family's data is isolated from every other family's at the database level. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and to promptly address any issues.

11. Cookies

We use only cookies that are strictly necessary to operate the dashboard — chiefly to keep you securely signed in. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

12. Where your data is processed

FamCEO and its service providers process and store data in the United States. If you access the service from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be processed in the United States.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of FamCEO after an update means you accept the revised policy.
