How FamCEO texting & consent works

Last updated: July 9, 2026

FamCEO is a household coordination service: an adult account holder (a parent or legal guardian) and their own registered family members exchange text messages with the family's FamCEO number. This page documents exactly how consent to receive those texts is collected, what messages we send, and how anyone can opt out. It supplements our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

Who receives messages — and who consents

The consent step, as shown at signup

This is the exact consent step every account holder sees in Step 2 of onboarding ("Add your kids"). The consent checkbox is unchecked by default — the account holder must actively check it before any family member's number can be registered:

The checkbox renders exactly as shown: empty until the account holder clicks it. It is never pre-selected, and consent is recorded with a timestamp at the moment it is given.

Every member is told, on their very first text

The first message FamBot sends any newly added member identifies the service and how to opt out:

FamCEO: You've been added to your family's FamCEO line. You'll get reminders, confirmations, and updates here. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. Msg & data rates may apply.

What we send

No marketing, no promotions, no third-party content — ever. Message frequency varies with the household's own activity.

Opting out always works

Any member can reply STOP at any time. They are flagged instantly and permanently — FamBot sends them nothing further, not even chore reminders — until they opt back in. HELP is honored too, and returns service info and contact details. The account holder can also remove any member (and their data) from the dashboard at any time.
